Direct Theatre

Term Time Classes

''Classes are always varied - I'm pushed to my boundaries almost every lesson'' (DT pupil aged 17)

''I am always happy at the end of class and I laugh a lot'' (DT pupil aged 8)

Blood Tears and Laughter 8We have three main production 'companies' who meet weekly during term time and produce two shows every year.

  • The Spring Street Company (ages 6 - 12)
  • The Minack Company (ages 13 - 15)
  • The Loose Moose Company (ages 15+)

We also run weekly classes for pupils who want to develop individual performance skills or simply enjoy drama in a more relaxed class setting.

  • Introductory Drama (ages 4 - 7)
  • Junior Acting Class (ages 7 -13, follows LAMDA syllubus and includes optional LAMDA exams)
  • Senior Acting Class (ages 13 - 18, follows LAMDA syllubus and includes optional LAMDA exams)

In the school holidays, we run a variety of 3 to 5 day schools. Click "holiday projects" for more information on these full day drama experiences.

Our numbers are strictly limited as we feel it is vital that each child has the opportunity to perform speaking roles and actively participate in all productions. There is no 'back row of the chorus' with Direct Theatre.

The cost per term of each class is listed below. We also ask that students purchase a direct theatre T-shirt to wear to class. We are pleased to say that there are NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES beyond the class fees and T-shirt. We do not charge extra for auditions, productions, rehearsals, etc and we do not require students to purchase any uniform beyond the T-shirt.

We offer free trial sessions for all our classes - everyone is welcome to come along and take part in a class and see if they enjoy it. Call Direct Theatre on Tel: 01202 416507 to book a session
