Direct Theatre is a Bournemouth based Youth Theatre for young people aged between 4 and 19 years. We pride ourselves on being just that little bit different and aim to give local young people the opportunity to perfom in a variety of drama based productions and have lots of fun along the way. We deliberately keep our numbers small so that every child has the opportunity to take a role in every performance...

We are always looking for new ways of working. Our past productions include, an open air prommenade performance within the gardens of a local museum, full scale mutli-media productions, new scripted work, improvisation for performance and a certified feature film, which premiered at The Regent Centre, Christchurch in 2008........Now we are excited to be staging a new play at The Pier Theatre in Bournemouth in March 2010.

BLOOD, TEARS & LAUGHTER

Is a new fairytale for all the family, written especially for a company of 35 young actors. An ensemble piece that explores the different theatrical styles of storytelling and asks the important question - Why are stories important to us?

'Set in a land where stories are forbidden, three sisters have three very different adventures in an attempt to break a powerful spell that grips their land. There are dragons, giants, pirates and sword fights, in this funny and fast paced production'
