2018 Improv Shows

In June 2018 we put on two Improv shows with our Junior and Senior Youth Theatre groups. Below are a few pictures from our performances, see if you can spot your kids!

2018 Main Productions

This year we are staging two original productions ‘Revolting Tales from Childhood’ and ‘Daniel’. Details of the productions are below and we look forward to welcoming friends and family to see our talented young performers take the stage.

‘Revolting Tales from Childhood’ (Junior Youth Theatre)

Growing up is a tricky business. Most children are delightful. Occasionally you come across a child who is truly revolting. And truly revolting children are revolting all the time.

Meet Spoilt Samuel, Adorable Annabella, and the other Revolting children in a selection of tales full of fun, naughtiness and despicable antics.

Our specially written play pays homage to Roald Dhal and David Walliams as we journey into the world of childhood with all its tears and tantrums.

‘Daniel’ (Senior Youth Theatre)

‘Daniel’ is a brand new play devised by Direct Theatre School, developed from the thoughts, feelings, ideas and real-life experiences of our senior youth theatre group. The play explores the transition from childhood to the teenage world, through the eyes of ‘Daniel’ a young person who is struggling to negotiate his way through the complex process of growing up.

Ensemble, physical theatre and humour all combine in this poignant, funny and thought provoking production.
