where creativity unfolds

What sets Direct Theatre apart form every other dramatic group is their productions. Just as one project is complete another one is born and unfolds, stretching minds and resources, pushing creativity to the limit

Performance is at the heart of what we do. Most of our regular classes culminate in an end of term show and we stage at least six productions each year. More often than not we write our own scripts, this ensures that each child is actively involved, with a character part and a specific role to play in each production. We are constantly looking for new ways of working, giving pupils new and exciting performance opportunities. Our own inspiration is based on our experience in professional theatre. At Direct Theatre School we like to push our own creativity and that of our students, exploring different styles of theatre from straight plays, physical theatre, and improvisation to site specific productions and film.

Some of our more recent productions include:

Agincourt

Having written 7 original plays for the young cast at Direct Theatre School, Peter Courtenay has now co-written his first new play for an all adult cast.... Click here to learn more => Agincourt
